About...

Sam portrait.jpg

Samantha Prigentwas born in 1983 in Brest in a family of artists, she lives today in Plovan in the Bigouden country.

As a child, she drew and painted, following in the footsteps of her father, a student of fine arts in Brest.

Passionate about riding since a young age, horses will be her first source of inspiration.

After several years devoted to  equestrian sports in Ireland and France, her taste for the arts caught up with her and it was natural for her to pick up brushes and pencils. She then worked on her technique with Michel Corbel, a former student of the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris.

Two consecutive selections at Art Cheval (European exhibition of contemporary art on the theme

of the horse in Saumur) in the Bouvet Ladubay gallery will help him to launch himself as an artist.

The inspirations are numerous and his curiosity leads him to different techniques.

"I like to revisit the old and give it a more contemporary touch".

To express herself she goes through painting, illustration and sculpture.

“I seek to bring my works to life. I do not want a fixed work, my subjects are voluntarily in motion. I like to represent grace, lightness and joy, that's what beauty and life represent to me..."

The style is figurative  with a naive or abstract tendency depending on the technique and your desires.
